스페인의 발렌시아에는 2개의 큰 축제가 있는데,
하나는 매년 8월 마지막 수요일에 열리는 '토마토 축제'와 (토마토 막 던지면서 노는거. TV에서 많이 보셨엇죠?)
다른 하나는 매년 3월 12일 부터 19일까지 일주일간 열리는 '불의 축제(Las Fallas)' 입니다.
그중 '불의 축제'가 이제 곧 열리니 이 기간에 발렌시아 여행하시는 분들은 놓치지 마세요!
'불의 축제'는 지난 겨울의 묵은 것을 태우고 새롭게 봄을 맞이한다는 중세 시대의 관습에서 유래되었다고 합니다.
저도 본적은 없지만, 특히 마지막 19일에는 축제기간동안 거리에 전시됐던
수백개의 종이 인형들을 시청광장으로 옮겨 한꺼번에 불을 태우고 폭죽을 터뜨리는데,
이 모습이 장관이라는 군요. (태우는 시간은 매년 바뀐다고 합니다. 현지 인포에서 확인필요하겠습니다.)
아.. 근데, 혹시나 해서 드리는 말씀. 지난번에도 베네치아 가면축제 마지막 날에 불꽃놀이 있다고 제가 글 올렸었는데,
그날 불꽃놀이를 안했거든요. --; 스폰서를 못구했댔나 어쨌댔나...
